In an effort to cope with the frustrations of romantic experiences and attraction, Hunter Hallett wrote through these emotions to articulate them. He expresses deep yearning of misunderstanding in a world of hookup culture where it would otherwise not be reciprocated, or through a lens of hopeful delusion and high expectations. The feelings of neglect and betrayal fuel his writing in a very vulnerable tone of paint and melancholy. Slowly he learns by examining patterns of behavior in himself and others what is missing while craving something so natural and human. To feel lonely and starved of love is a dangerous thing. Hallett finds peace silently reflecting while picking battles and letting go; writing poetry about what we all deserve in life. Love.
The title is an aphorism that describes avoidance of communication or action in an intimate bond that generates enlightenment or realizations of the relationship quality during a time of tension when attunement is needed.
Silence being an implicit form of expression that would otherwise bring clarity, peace, and safety had communication, boundaries, and other important values been met.
